Sterling Silver Flower of Life Pendant
Sterling Silver hand crafted Flower of Life pendant is a superb representation of this powerful and sacred symbol.
The Flower of Life Symbol is an ancient geometric symbol; the earliest known examples were found in Mesopotamia and dated back to 1400BC. Perhaps the most famous representation of the Flower of Life symbol was discovered over a doorway in the Temple of Osiris in Abydos, Egypt and is claimed to be as much as 10,500 years old.
The symbol comprises multiple geometrically identical evenly spaced circles that overlap to form a repeating series of flower patterns with sixfold symmetry. Each flower contains six identical petals surrounded by a hexagon, and somewhat resembles a honeycomb cell. The centre of each flower sits on the circumference of 6 intersecting circles. Each individual petal of a single flower is a part of another flower, for the other flowers could not exist without the components of the first. In other words, no single flower in the Flower of Life pattern exists on its own – all are interconnected.

Leonardo da Vinci studied the Flower of Life and identified the five platonic solids hidden within the template. These are the 5 “perfect shapes” that the ancient Greek philosopher Plato identified and theorised were the basic building blocks of the 5 elements-Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Ether.
